Cosplayers are a unique and talented bunch of individuals. They are able to use ordinary materials such as fabric, plastic and foam and with time, patience, craftsmanship and an ever so meticulous eye for detail turn those raw materials into amazing costumes that represent every possible fandom on earth. Each week here on House Of The Geeks we want shine a spotlight on these amazing makers and show off our favourite cosplay that they have created.
I think any child that grows up playing video games will know the name of Bowser. He is the iconic dinosaur bad guy of the Mario franchise that always goes out of his way to ensure that he’s kidnapped Princess Peach or caused some sort of other trouble. After racing through a level, jumping on turtles, stomping goomba’s and eating mushrooms you will inevitably come across King Koopa in all his evil glory and in order to complete the level, will have to dispatch him.
As far as cosplay go, transforming in the big brute would be difficult enough a trick to pull off, but what if you were female? The task of transforming oneself into Bowser might be made even more difficult. That is, unless you are Drisana Litke and you have an alternative take on the big guy and as you can see in the images below, it turned out pretty cool.
Everything about this cosplay is perfect. The dimpled effect and painting of the hammer are amazing, the spiked turtle shells, the natural look to the bone horns and the red eyes are perfect for a Bowser cosplay and you can tell just how much time and effort went into creating this costume.
You can check out more of Drisana Litke’s Bowser build on her social media channels and while you’re there make sure to check out her other fantastic cosplay builds including an Ariel, a zombie Leia and more.
