Transformers: The Last Knight is now in theaters and if you’re a fan of Transformers then you probably grew up a fan of Optimus Prime as well. The Autobot leader is easily the most popular Transformer and for good reason, he’s an absolute bad ass that fights for truth and stands up for what’s right.
While I do love the look of the new Optimus from the Bay movies, my Optimus is the 80’s cartoon version and as a kid I even got to dress up as him for Halloween one year, my costume though was a vinyl overcoat and a plastic mask that ended up cracking from the cold. I was left sad and wishing that one day I could properly dress up as Optimus Prime. Well, that day has finally arrived and with the aid of the DIY Costume Squad, some cardboard, duct tape, hot glue and spray paint I can finally realize my dreams.
This awesome DIY tutorial is a great look at how someone with some creativity and skill can turn a pile of unrelated and seemingly random junk into something that is truly amazing. It gives me hope that I too can create something this awesome and potentially head out this year as Optimus Prime.
The Optimus Prime that is seen in the video above got it’s YouTube debut in the Homemade Movie Trailer for The Last Knight which you can see below.
