Kickstarter has quickly grown to be an amazing platform that is filled with passionate individuals and teams who are looking for funds to help bring those passions from dream to reality. Each week here on House Of The Geeks we are going to take a look at one Kickstarter project we think more people should know about and hopefully even support.
I think most of us are familiar with the sanitized and very safe fairy tales from our youth. The stories we were told were fantastical and filled with lessons to be learned by children. There was the Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood, fairy godmothers, evil witches and step mothers, Rumpelstiltskin and many others.
Combining these traditional fairy tales that we know and love with board games seems like a perfect match and Druid City Games must have believed this as well as they have created The Grimm Forest a new board game available for backing on Kickstarter right now.
The Grimm Forest is a resource management, reasoning and deduction and building game where you play as the niece or nephew of the original three little pigs and you are tasked with building three houses before your opponents. You do this by collecting resources by visiting locations and then by strategically using Fable cards you have collected earn more resources to work towards building your homes. The forest is full of monsters and evils and your opponents could use this to their advantage and hurt your chances as well.
The game looks like a lot of fun with plenty of things happening to ensure no player is ever bored and the artwork for the game looks incredible. This is definitely one board game on Kickstarter that I am very interested in backing.
