Cosplayers are a unique and talented bunch of individuals. They are able to use ordinary materials such as fabric, plastic and foam and with time, patience, craftsmanship and an ever so meticulous eye for detail turn those raw materials into amazing costumes that represent every possible fandom on earth. Each week here on House Of The Geeks we want shine a spotlight on these amazing makers and show off our favourite cosplay that they have created.
Star Wars is one of the most beloved franchises in media right now and with it’s rich and diverse worlds, characters, aliens and droids it’s also an easy place for cosplayers to derive inspiration from. If you are into the Jedi or Sith then there are countless characters you can cosplay as ranging from those found in the Old Republic, Legends and those found in current Canon. If you prefer to play another species, a droid, a pilot or even the armored faceless grunt for the Empire there are some amazing options to choose from as well.
The choices that cosplayers have to choose from inside the Star Wars Universe that choosing a character to portray may be harder than the building of the costume itself. Seeing as we are counting down to the biggest Star Wars holiday of them all in May The Fourth this week we thought we’d take a look at some of the best cosplay that has been created to celebrate the Star Wars Universe.
Jedimanda is definitely not a stranger to amazing cosplay and her Ahsoka Tano cosplay is one of the best ones that I have ever seen. She also has created an absolutely gorgeous and I would say screen accurate Queen Amidala that has to be seen to be believed.
Hydraworx is another cosplayer who has created some amazing Star Wars costumes including this Twi’Lek bounty hunter. Along with this bounty hunter, Hydrawork has also created a Mandalorian in snow armour, a member of the Night Sisters, a Storm Trooper and many other non-Star Wars cosplays.
A very talented cosplayer indeed and one you should be following.
The Fifth Square
The popularity of The Force Awakens helped to usher in new characters into the Star Wars canon and cosplayers were quick to adapt, create new costumes and star cosplaying as the new characters. One of the most popular new characters to come from Episode VII is Rey and Kelsey of The Fifth Square has created a damn good Rey costume and plays the part of desert nomad convincingly.

Crazy Twinkle Star
Besides having what I think is possibly the best Instagram handle, Crazy Twinkle Star has also created one of the first Sabine Wren cosplays that I have yet to see. The color of the helmet, the jetpack, the hair, and the armour are all extremely well done and work to make a convincing Rebel.
Old Man Skywalker
What would Star Wars be without the Skywalkers and Luke in particular? There would be no family drama, no father going to the dark side and no Jedi to be carrying a little green Jedi Master around on his back. Come to think of it, a little family squabble sure has caused a lot of things to happen in a galaxy far, far away. No matter, without Luke we would have no Star Wars and when he first appeared on screen at the end of The Force Awakens it was mind blowing.
His look from The Force Awakens is a lot different than that in the original trilogy and for good reason, he has aged, he has lost, and he has been in exile. Ole Man Skywalker took inspiration from this and created a very accurate Luke Skywalker cosplay from The Force Awakens complete with robotic arm and the results are fantastic.

What would a comic-con or cosplay convention be without cosplayer extraordinaire Adam Savage. The former Mythbuster who can now be found on Tested not only loves Star Wars but also cosplay and this combination has resulted in some spectacular cosplay opportunities over the years. At the recent Silicon Valley Comic Con, Adam once again went incognito and this year he went as none other than the big Wookie himself…Chewbacca. The little touches from the bandolier (made by Adam in a recent video) to the busted up C-3PO on his back really make this costume something special.
